Our Mission
IRON HEART TRAINING RANGE
Safety. Discipline. Confidence.
Iron Heart Training Range provides professional beginner-level pistol safety and marksmanship instruction in a controlled, respectful, and safety-focused environment.
Led by James Jones, a retired United States Marine Officer, former Drill Instructor, Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor, and South Carolina Magistrate’s Constable. Each class is designed to help responsible students become safer, more knowledgeable, and more confident around firearms.

Students will receive instruction in:

Proper pistol handling

Grip and shooting stance
-
Sight alignment and sight picture
-

Small Classes. Personal Instruction.
Class sizes are intentionally limited so each participant can receive focused instruction and hands-on assistance.
All participants must complete the required registration documents, screening questionnaire, liability waiver, and safety briefing before participating in live-fire training.

Range Procedures
What are the safety protocols?
Strict adherence to the four cardinal rules: Always treat every firearm as if it is loaded, keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, keep the trigger finger off the trigger until ready to fire, and be sure of your target and what is beyond it.
What are the course requirements?
Participants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid state-issued photo ID. All trainees must complete a comprehensive firearms safety orientation before any practical shooting is permitted.
Is prior experience required?
While prior experience is beneficial, our academy is designed for beginners. We provide a structured curriculum that builds fundamental skills from the ground up, ensuring every student reaches proficiency at their own pace.
What is the academy discipline?
Discipline is the cornerstone of our training. We emphasize military-grade precision and respect for the weapon. Students are expected to maintain a professional demeanor and follow all range commands without exception.
How are range fees structured?
Registration fees cover ammunition, range safety instruction, and access to our primary range. Additional course-specific fees may apply for advanced marksmanship modules and specialized equipment.
